    Negril in August???

I'm thinking of taking the wife to Catcha for our anniversary which is August 2. Is this a horrible time to go?

    Re: Negril in August???

It's a busy time of the year in Negril as Jamaica is celebrating Emancipation and Independence during the beginning of August.
But having said that, it's the beach area that is usually the busiest at that time and it won't be overly active in the West End.
Book early...hotels do fill up quickly and Catcha is a popular place to stay any time of the year.

great time of year......but like Bnewb said.......beach is busy......
beach and downtown packed even a lot more so than Christmas or February......
if you looking for peace and quiet....not the best time to come......nor the least expensive....
room rates for Independence week are sky high..yah mon
