I couldn't really tell any difference in U.S. vs JA. Redstripe the last few 6 packs. Didn't know they stopped making it in the U.S. Good move. I remember years ago when it was still made in JA. it never seemed t taste as good here. I think a lot of that had something to do with sand, reggae music and a whiff of smoke in the air while consuming that heavenly brew. Been too long since I've enjoyed one in Jamaica. That will all change next week so I'll let you know.

I wonder if Red Stripe Light will come back to the States this year. I know Diego was planning on marketing/pushing RS more worldwide. I haven't been able to buy the lighter side of Jamaica here in the States for probably five years or so. Tastes so good on a hot summer day. Regardless, I do hope more effort is made to promote the product, love drinking it here at home in addition to when I am in Jamrock.

Red Stripe has lost their shelf space here. With so many craft brews in our area they dominate. I called one store that still sold Red Stripe and the lady that answered the phone went and checked their stock and it was old PA brewed Red Stripe. Skunked not good beer. I let her know and have asked several stores about the imported availability and it hasn't found it's way here yet.

Heineken owns Red Stripe now...and they are successfully using Jamaica grown cassava as one of their ingredients to replace imported rice.

I keep checking but our red stripe is sill from Latrobe PA. Red Stripe is ALWAYS better in JA - it couldn't just be the surroundings could it?

It's like Beck's (in the U.S.) says brewed in St. Louis, Fosters (in the U.S.) from Canada, and I'm still seeing PA brewed Red Stripe. the (new) Guiness Blonde is made domestically, too...but I haven't tried it...probably won't, my Guiness has to be the dark stuff, and Dublin brewed....I can't do the Jamaican stuff, tastes like Dragon Stout, with that annoying sweetness.(IMHO)

Red Stripe was being made here in Wisconsin for a while at the former Old Style brewery in La Crosse.

I have also seen Red Stripe no longer available at my local store.

The first shipment of Red Stripe will head for the U.S. on September 1 with cases expected to hit retail shelves in November 2016. The move is part of a larger plan to catapult Red Stripe to a truly global brand within the HEINEKEN portfolio. Red Stripe, a full-bodied lager known around the world for its quality, taste and signature stubby bottle, has earned a loyal following among consumers who live life with a positive attitude.
