    Fun Holiday

Looking for info on Fun Holiday, knowing that it's a 3.5 star and being ok with most stuff I have read, just wondering if someone can help assist on a few things.

The price is right unfortunately over staying at Rooms, but this allows us to do the things we want as well YAY!

Swim Up Pool Bar - is that cash during the day/evening (not sure based on some reviews)

Is the bar that is open til 12am cash as well, how much roughly are their beers, do they offer bottle beer in the evening if paid in cash ?

Open to any other tips, please know I am not looking for the Grand Palladium experience ! Cheers

I used to love staying at fun holiday but my last two years of reserving and even paying for my room ahead of time, I have had the unpleasant surprise of finding that they were overbooked upon my arrival and trying to move me to foote prints instead......needless to say I was PISSED.....even after Marion PROMISED me last year she wouldn't do it again.....so I will NEVER book there again......screw me once, shame on you....screw me twice, shame on me.....

Same with us and many others I spoke to (we reserved 11 1/2 months ahead). Over booked. We'll never stay again either.

Did you choose the all inclusive plan or hotel only plan?

Just my opinion, a 3 1/2 star rating for Fun Holiday is very generous. If you want very basic, although clean accommodations on a great stretch of beach, go for it. Probably a good idea to pass on the all-inclusive plan. Check the reviews on trip-ad.

We are returning to Fun Holiday For our 6 th visit its clean the beach is great we actually like the food. I book thru Orbitz or Travelocity and we get a week AI for between 800 and 1000 pp for airfare included. Then we can take day trips with our great driver Linston and go eat anywhere else we want. It works for us.

I seen deals that include the AI which is a lot cheaper then staying at Rooms on the Beach. Last time we stayed there and loved it, but the prices for Rooms in quite high right now.

I didn't see any options for non AI will have to check that out.

April will be the 7th times since 2013 that we have stayed at FH for part of our stay.....the swim up bar has only been open once in that time...the beer is draft....since we dont do AI, we rent a fridge for 5.00 a day, we go buy beer, snacks, juices....yes it is cash bar as well as a/i.....I love FH....but you get what you pay for...it is a budget hotel....its a days in, motel 6 type, not a Marriott....a/c usually kicks ass, beds for sleeping, beach within steps of my room, pool facing the beach....walking distance to all the entertainment....as long as we keep finding deals, and dont get bumped, we will keep using FH....a little inconvience here or there happens even at all the resorts from time to time....it is Negril...roll with the flow....we are paying more than twice the amount when we move from FH to Rondel in april...we are moving to be with all of our friends when they arrive...we have 16 friends staying at rondell....only other time we stayed there, we had some of the same issues (negril Issues) that you hear about at smaller places like FH...toilet stopped up, low water pressure a couple times, noice from the jungle next door, but we just roll with it....

    Re: Fun Holiday

I had heard that Fun Holiday contracted with Sunwing out of Toronto for their packaged deals so those that booked privately were the first to be booted.....sound legit as most of the travelers at meal time were Canadian (FH gave us free AI even though we were staying next door at Roots Bamboo so we ate for free there)...

    Re: Fun Holiday

Regarding the food and drink on the all-inclusive plan. Last time I stayed there (three stays in total on the all-inclusive plan), the ongoing issue for the week was that they continually ran out of certain items on the limited buffet, and there was no more to be had until the next meal time. The problem for the entire week with the red stripe draft was that they could not get it pour properly, only cups of foam, but they did not get in bottled beer because of the continual issue. The bar would run out of rum (in Jamaica!!!!) Sometimes they would run out of plates and cutlery.
I found the food to be tasty, it's just that the food and drink was not available in adequate quantities for the guests. Now that is a real problem, and that has kept me from returning to Fun Holiday.
If recent guests could comment on the food service and bar service on the all-inclusive plan indicating shortages are no longer an issue I would probably return, but I have my doubts any of that has changed for the better.
Very good people working there, I felt these issues were a result of ownership not really caring about their guests.
