Instead of taking a boat to the reef for a short trip at $25 a head, you might consider taking a taxi to Xtabi, buying a $5 beer, and snorkeling off the cliffs there. Depending on how many are in your group, it may be a less expensive route to go and a much longer excursion, depending on how long you want to stay. Xtabi also has a fresh water shower to rinse off after coming out of the water.
