My Night Sky Pro app gave me alerts whenever the ISS was traversing the Negril night sky. That suckers is big and easy to spot. The app is a trip because you point the device at the sky and it displays the stars, planets, etc that are in the sky whenever you point the app - day or night. When I used to stay at Secret Paradise way out on the west end, the sky was particularly dark and the number of stars awe inspiring. I used to bring a portable telescope with me. The security guard (Tony) and I would spend half the night star gazing. The last thing I remember was catching a glimpse (faint fuzzballs) of the galaxy cluster in Virgo. That light had been traveling millions of years to get to my eyes.

Secret Paradise was sold and the new owner embarked on a massive renovation/expansion that failed. It sure would be a trippy touristic site for an enterprising Jamaican backyard astronomer. I never go to Jamaica without my binoculars. As Tony would say, "Well prepared, mon!" Now, all we need is a Jamaican astronomy geek!
