The security lady (who was actually very nice) told me that even if you fail, if they don't find anything on you, there is nothing they can do. If I would have failed I would be x-,rayed to see if I ate it since they found nothing in my suitcase. I am assuming , if it got to that point, and I was x-rayed and they found nothing, they would have to let me go. To be honest, my biggest fear was being set up. I read a lot about the JA police wanting paid off for things that may not even be true. What if they said they did find something looking for a payoff, then what would I do?
I really think that I should call the U.S. Embassy before my next trip and tell them what happened. I should at least get a little educated on my rights in case it does happen again. Jamaica is a totally different country, I have no idea what their legal system is all about.
