My experience with oils in JA have been that they are not very good. Nasty stuff really.

I started a cannabis data company in the states, cannabis benchmarks (see cannabisbenchmarks.com) - we publish a weekly report on the wholesale price of cannabis in legal markets. So I follow the market very closely. Even in the states, a lot of the strain names are not actually validated - if Blue Dream is popular, suddenly everyone says they are growing Blue Dream. Indoor typically sells at a premium to greenhouse, although that is changing because people like the idea of "sungrown", and outdoor is quite a bit cheaper. While the THC content of cannabis is often higher (22% t0 27%), I still think the the old landrace strains like Panama Red, Columbian Gold, LambsBread (THC around 18%) had a better high -- more cannininoids and terpenes. They were primarily sativas, which as Capt noted took longer to mature. Unfortunately, lower quality indica for export took over the general market in Jamaica and we got a lot of that cheap Jamaican weed in the States. As the legal international markets develop, and we begin to see legal import/export, eventually more higher quality production will becoming from tropical countries like Jamaica. Already the largest Canadian producer, Canopy Growth, is partnering with one of the Jamaican licensee to bring more advanced genetics and growing techniques. In the last few years a number of Jamaicans have become more sophisticated growers with better strains - so the quality will continue to improve. I found one very good producer who has a small food shop roadside (near Alfreds) but I don't want to name him and bring on any heat. He also makes some mighty fine hash!

If it's the real deal, that's a great strain. I have some experience with it.

When I was younger, I remember, chocolate thaistick and Hawaiian. I wish I could find stuff like that again. These days the best I can find here in NY is Hydro, and that stuff kicks my ass
