You can negotiate a private charter taxi to approximately 500j a couple from Grand Pineapple to the short cliffs...more for Seastar, Ricks area etc.
Route taxi is 130j per person from Grand Pineapple to downtown Negril and a second route taxi from downtown Negril to the cliffs is 130j per person.

Beach to West End locations like Seastar I offer up $10 for two during the daytime. I recall one time where the driver wouldn't have it and I moved on. This is for a private charter, not route taxi. You can split hairs and save a buck or two, but why?

Booger, Canadian here and won't be using US dollars. Respect. Happy to use a route taxi and the currency of Jamaica.

As a tourist, calling the driver you regularly use day or night will not be a problem as that is their job. You can also have the restaurant, bar or hotel contact a driver for you. This applies to the West End as well as the beach road.

    Marko,

Living here is different than being a visitor. Visitors don't have usual drivers they call out of the blue. Your usual drivers assume as a resident that you can get yourself around. Visitors are still their priority.

If you need to regularly get around during late or early hours, you need to arrange a schedule in advance with your driver. This way they can adjust their hours for you.
