ask around and look for signs. when you eat breakfast, lunch, or dinner, ask if the place has live music that day.

mid-july could be a slower time for smaller, more intimate venues, but the big names are always open: bourbon beach, alfred's, roots bamboo... just to name a few.

Old school reggae.... Most tourist places will play more current artists when hosting dj's, live singers will play the common reggae hits mixed with original songs, in my experience.

the overtakers played old school songs last time i saw them. about half the songs I recognized, the other half i didn't.
