    Thanks in advance

The old boxes are not being sold anymore, but they still work. They only sell the new boxes.

Babalew...if you have a phone ...purchase a data plan from Digicel. Turn your phone into a hot spot for your computer etc as needed.
You can add credit in small amounts or buy monthly plans.
It's the only option Rob and I have for our home location...it's also desirable as we move around the island quite a bit...we've been using this set up for years now.

This was the strategy we hoped to use the first time we needed to get our own WiFi. We got a Digital SIM for one of our iPhones so we could make local calls and turn it into a hotspot, but it didn't have that feature. This was back in the SIM trimming era. If I got a SIM for my iPhone SE would it be fully functional as a hotspot?

Since at least 2011, iPhone offered the hotspot. That was in the near pre-sim trimming days...

If you still have the old phone, it may have the capability, but not the "feature". Some carriers blocked the hotspot option.

Your iPhone SE could have that same issue depending on the original carrier. The functionality is there, but the option may be hidden. If the hotspot feature doesn't appear on the unlocked iPhone SE, follow these instructions:

To set up Wi-Fi hotspot for an Apple iPhone SE
From the home screen, tap Settings. ...
    Tap Cellular.
    Tap Personal Hotspot. ...
Tap the Personal Hotspot switch to enable it.
    Tap Wi-Fi Password.
Enter a password, then tap Done.
The personal hotspot is now active allowing other devices to connect via Wi-Fi.

It was an excruciatingly frustrating process to get our Digital WiFi box some years ago. Everyday their imminent arrival was thought to be going to happen. "Soon come" for the box was more painful than waiting for a meal order on a busy night. All those extra beers didn't help for that time frame! We quickly learned where all the free hot spots were and got well practiced in downloading reading material, but email and banking were problematic on public hot spots. We finally got it a few days before we left and have used it ever since. I council patience and perseverance.

Hopefully, the new boxes are faster, but there's plenty of life left in the old. Kind of like me! Respect --Marblehead
