Anyone stay at the Negril Palms recently?

Long time visitor to Negril and saw some good prices at Negril Palms, looking for some insight into what to expect. Safety, rooms, etc.

Stayed there the last 2 Februaries. Like it a lot. Restaurant/bar not the best or worst but great location to explore the million options on the beach. Hi for it!

I highly recommend the Palms. I had 4 visitors there last year.

Bare bones, friendly staff, responsive to any issues you might have (water heater for us). We love that end of the beach, so when we see their specials, we certainly don't dismiss them.

Thanks, Solo, Cap and Chris. I love that end of the beach as well, just didn't know much about the Palms. I might just have to give it a try.

Me and Mrs.wee Are headed there in 49 days will report back .
I understand they've done some upgrading. It looked pretty nice before.
I think the prices may have gone up since the renos.
We booked prior so got a great price.

A few things to add to my previous report:

    * There is a GREAT little restaurant across the street, maybe 100 feet to the right. It's down a driveway behind what looks like a house. I can't remember the name of it, but we stumbled across it and were blown away. 6th visit to Negril for me and this is a top 5 place to eat in my eyes (and affordable!)

    * The rooms vary greatly. Some of them are quite small and dark. particularly on the first floor. Definitely bring a flash light. The first year we were there we literally could not see in our room, regardless of time of day. I had to bring the suitcase outside to find anything. The nice rooms are quite nice, however.

    * For breakfast I'd go next door or down to Cafe Goa down the road.

It sounds like you are referring to Marge & Ossie's Restaurant ( commonly known as Ms. Madge's ) which is located in the yard behind their house. For over 30 yrs it was located on the beach side of the road directly across from Ossie's Jerk Centre and moved across the road into their yard a few years ago. Ms Madge has always served awesome home cooked meals. ( You won't find better kingfish anywhere. )
