I mean like $10 USD a day bargain, bear in mind there were only 2 or 3 hotels on the entire Negril Beach. Families would take you in, there was in many cases no running water no toilets (outhouse instead). Ganja was an unbelievable deal. $10 - 20 USD for a shopping bag full of great herb. I can't speak about other islands but compared to southern Florida Jamaica was an unbelievable deal.
