Negril was a bargain back in the 70's it was a very inexpensive vacation. Like Cap said the JA dollar was worth more than USD.

Negril is still a bargain. I can spend two weeks in Jamaica for the price of one week at any of the other Caribbean destination. I would probably spend more to come to Jamaica, I'm just really happy I don't have to.
