Linston just returned from the airport - NO PROBLEM

He did pass one road block at the St. James / Hanover border but they didn't stop him.

He saw one jeep with soldiers but nothing else. Most of the activity is up in the hills behing MoBay

Been hearing the same thing from other drivers. The consensus is that this is great for St. James. There are tourists out and about, walking the Hip Strip and having a wonderful time! I feel sorry about that travel agent cancelling Bluez's friends trip. But I am sure that they were just erring on the side of caution.

I guess I could be wrong, however it seems to me that it would be safer now having the increased Military/Police presence in the parrish.

Criminals are likely keeping their heads down in an effort to not be found. Hopefully the local residents will feel protected enough to help the security forces with the roundup.

I land in 13 days and have no more concern about travelling than I normally would.

We flew out yesterday afternoon. Aside from the checkpoint coming into the parish nothing out of the norm. Safe travels.

My wife and I were Linston's riders yesterday and Cap is exactly right. There was no problem getting to the airport. In fact, the MoBay streets were quiet so the trip was a little quicker than usual. MoBay seemed strange without all the bustle but there were people -- tourists and others -- walking around. We spent the week in Negril in the Cliffs and went down to town and/or the beach nearly every day, using route taxis and walking. Everything was perfectly normal (for Negril). We didn't notice anything unusual and we certainly didn't feel unsafe.

For the those who don't know, Linston is a great guy and a safe and reliable driver.

Now if we could just do something about that crazy weather front that won't go away . . .

No problem. From what my wife and I observed and experienced last week, a trip to Negril is as safe as ever. It would be a real shame if the Jamaican people who depend so much on tourism suffer due to unfounded fears.

Guys I’ve been here since January 21st, i haven’t seen any problems and haven’t felt any once scared... travelling alone and i have walked a couple streets on the beach road no problem to go get some chicken at 9:30pm
I booked my trip two days before leaving so January 19th and not one bit worried... the media blows things out of proportion a bit.
Use common Sence just as when you are anywhere back home and enjoy the beautiful country 🇯🇲✌️
