First time we had chicken in Negril, we were staying above the HiLo, just before the bridge headed back from the beach we were walking along. There was a guy off the road 20 or 30 feet, just standing there in front of a smoking 45 gallon drum BBQ. The smell made us stop, he looked up and said "It's OK, don't be afraid". We walked over and he opened the grill, we would have paid whatever he asked. We got a half chicken and two ice cold stripes out of a cooler under the grill for 12 bucks. We ate most of it on the walk back to the HiLo. We got to our room and laughed, BBQ sauce everywhere greasy bottles, have been in love with the road side dudes ever since.
