    Question Restaurants/Transport/Jewelry Questions

    Hello all,

It's been a while since we've been back so I need some help catching up!
We're arriving on Feb 17, staying at Idle Awhile. Our past 2 visits were at Coco La Palm so we're excited about this change
We have some questions, but feel free to let us know about any new dining or shopping that's going on. We're not big on sight seeing. We mostly hang around eating, drinking, playing games on the beach and a little bit of shopping!

Who do you like for transport from the airport? We have 4 adults and 4 suitcases so we don't want a tiny car.

In the past, we had the driver stop at a large grocery store where we stocked up on some stuff, but I can't remember what it was. Thoughts?

I don't think we found lemons in Jamaica, correct? We drink vodka/water with lemon, but I think we had to buy lemon juice.

Is beer sold in the grocery store or do you need to stop at a liquor store?

    What about wine & spirits?

Is the German Bar still in business? We're hoping it is!

My notes from our last visit refer to Whistling Bird to see Alfonso's unique jewelry. We met with a lady who came to the beach a ways down from where we were. Does anyone know anything about that?

    Thanks everyone!

We use Ashton Pitt, he will bring a van if you need a big vehicle

    Probably was Mega Mart

You can get beer or liquor just about anywhere including Mikey's, which is just across the street.

    Yes

I think the lemons look like limes because they’re green.

Breezy is a great driver and he drives a nice clean van.

    Cat & Chief,

Great news on your upcoming trip! Good to have you back!

Idle is a wonderful place and their lunch menu hits the spot. There are many new dining places, both on the beach and the cliffs. Be sure to check out the Dining section. I am sure you will get some solid recommendations.

All the drivers in our Transport section are legally licensed and insured. We know them all personally, feel free to contact any of them. They can take you to Mega Mart or another new store called Progressive Foods. Booze is available at all the places. Lemons are much harder. You can get "Real Lemon" juice concentrate, and maybe lemon flavored Tang or similar.

You can shop at Time Square and the craft market. I'm sorry to break the news, Alfonzo passed away a few years ago.

And yes, the German Bar is open!

I hope this helps and welcome back!

Alfonzo's wife Dianna is often at LTU with her jewelry in the evenings. Her jewelry is beautiful also and very similar to Alfonzo's. Enjoy your trip.

Thanks for the update on Alfonzo's wife! I believe she's the very nice lady we met with a few years ago! Can some someone tell me...what is LTU? LOL

Progressive had lemons yesterday. We prefer to shop there than mega-mart
