Can you use TracPhones in JA? Thanks in advance.

Get one every year from my driver. Load about $50 onto it and most years it lasts my entire two weeks. Put our phones away when we get there. They work great for calls and texts and usually have a bunch of places on speed dial if it's a phone your driver gives out all the time.

Are you talking about a tracphone? Or just whatever phone your driver loans you?

He loans us a tracphone to use while we are there. We go buy minutes at one of the stores that sell them and we load the minutes on the phone and we are good to go. Glorified flip phone, but does everything we want for a reasonable price. There are many drivers who offer to loan one to you for nothing, hoping you will use them while you are there.

Are you talking about a TracFone? If so, this is their answer:

Can I receive international calls on my TRACFONE cell phone when I am outside of the United States?
No. TRACFONE cell phones don't work outside of the United States, Puerto Rico or the U.S. Virgin Islands.

I see, TracFone vs tracphone. I think the one he gives us is a digicel or something like that. We call to and receive from the US with no issues. Sorry for the confusion Jenn. thanks for jumping in Rob.
