Trip Report Day 3 and Day 4
Another beautiful day with doing nothing but sitting on the beach. WE did have about an hour of rain this afternoon.
Norman the patty man came by yesterday but he did not have any coco bread because the bakery was closed due to Valentine's Day.
A few years back we did venture off the beach and went to Jurassic Park the home of Donny Monk. He has huge dinosaurs all over his yard. He did all the iron work at Kuyaba's and the street gate for Lazy Daze. We bought a pair of candle holders like the ones we had seen at Kuyaba. We also ordered a female mask like the one on the women's bathroom at Kuyaba and a guy delivered it via bike.
Wednesday night we went to eat at Idle Awhile and I had pumpkin soup and Carl had Pepper Pot and we both had a Ceasar salad and some key lime pie.
Vinnie the cook for Best in the West has worked there for 15 years and he took a day off and they fired him. He now has his own place right down from Best in the West. Our cab driver last night said he had recently been twice to Best in the West and knew there was something different about the chicken. WE are going to check it out one night.
Last night we had reservations at Ivan's. They had complimentary pickup and the fare back was $15. We both had chicken stroganoff and I also had a piece of chocolate cake. This sounds like a restaurant review so if you want to know of any good places to eat just read this trip report.
Carl went to walk down the beach yesterday but got as far as Marqaritaville and had to turn back. It was crowded with people bused in and the hustlers were hovering along the beach.
We are going to Angela's for pizza tonight and taking a taxi which according to our hotel will be five dollars. We used to walk all the way to the Hi Lo but can't do it anymore. We either go to the Shamrock or a little store across the street from Charela.
Our cab driver said that you could possess two ounces of pot before they write you a ticket. The only problem is they do not have the ticket books printed up so they cannot write tickets yet.
