We just left Oct 2, 2011, Bourbon Beach was closed the 10 days we were there. Last time in May 2011 they were open. No one really knows why just rumors.

So where can I get super spicy dead chicken

We used to do Be Buss back in the day and I always thought it was the best.

Then we were disappointed with Bourbon Beach because the chicken was dry.

We even visited Bourbon Beach again once a year until a couple years ago - hoping it would get better. Eventually gave it up. And it seemed a lot of others gave it up too, because the place was always empty when we'd go there at suppertime on a February when it should be packed.

So where can I get something of a similar style done right?

Looking forward to checking something out in mid-January.

    Thanks!
    Frank

    Will let you know

Hey Frank, you know Mike and I will let you know, we are going to try to visit lots of new places, try as many as possible. Hoping bourbon is still open and the chicken not as dry.

    De Bus

Wasn't De Bus the place where the guys could use the urinals behind a short wall, and still be able to see the show?
Anyway, I feel bad for the guys who were mugged, if indeed that did happen. I never felt threatened on the beach untill about two years ago. Things seem to have changed for the worse. More vacant properties, longer dark streches.Places like Petes and Mavis & Sons are extinct, and the number of husslers is growing. The Red Stripes still walk the beach, but are few and far between. I still go there, but I am much more gaurded than I was 25 years ago. No matter how "street smart" or in this case "beach smart" you may be, bad things can happen when you least expect them.
