When the business started, he only had a handful of riders and a wide choice of places to stop because everyone wanted the business. Lenbert is a very good-hearted guy and he tries to please everyone so when he added new stops, he had to drop some of the others which angered a few owners. When he would go to small, out of the way places the word would spread and curious kids would show up. Some people are too free with their money and the kids didn't even have to ask and they got some money. More kids show up when they hear about the "free money" and now the pushier ones started asking and some even demanding. Now Lenbert has a problem with the riders complaining about the beggers.

By building at his own property, he can do a better job of controlling the begging which he does to appease the riders. The saying is "Jamaica noh easy". Most people probably like going to his "private" bar and avoiding the begging but some, like you, do not. Sometimes I take the One Love Bus just to go around to some different places and don't even drink anything but I still tip Lenbert for the service he provides for himself and his community. Big Up Lenbert!

The only time I had a $hit experience on the bus was when I invited myself onto a full bus, near the end of the journey. It was a Hedo group and they were just nasty, and this is coming from a rather liberal guy. Lembert was nice enough to allow us to join, even though this group had chartered the whole bus. I blame nobody but myself, and appreciated the hospitality from Lembert. We rode in the early days too, in fact our first ride was just my wife and I, and Rob trying to connect for a webcast. We had numerous rides after that, and all were a good time. I wish the man nothing but continued success, and encourage those who are nervous to leave the compound to give it a shot. Hopefully he can clear up the begging issue sooner than later.

Do you really care? It’s a tour of places we might not ever think to go... the man is making a living, right? I’ll be there in April and will ask to go to his place!

Are you asking what he does with his money? I guess it would be ok to ask you what you do with yours????

    One Love bus

Forgive me if I am off base.. I saw a thread that seemed as though Lenbert was some how going to “make money”. And that may somehow be a bad thing. My perception of this board is most are not from Jamaica. That said, who among us doesn’t want to make money and provide for our children and family. I have been on his tours numerous times and have the best time. The only thing I will say is I wasn’t expecting to go to shanty town. My husband and felt bad because we weren’t prepared to contribute to the moms and children in great numbers pleading for what ever we could give to them. I guess this is to say if you go on the tour be prepared to see a community that is in desperate need,as well as all the fun stuff too. After all this world is diverse. ❤️

We got stuck sitting on a return flight between a whole bunch of Hedos folks. They were the most obnoxious bunch I have ever encountered in JA. There were 8 or them, if I had a dollar for ever time I heard "I put my pants on for this?" Then raucous laughter from the rest of the gang. It was beyond annoying. I am far from a prude, I have been a guest at the Playboy Mansion and spent a night on the town in LA where Hugh paid everyone's tab, but this was just beyond ridiculous.

I know not all the folks are like that, but if he ran into a tribe like I did I can only imagine.

Tried finding the original thread, but it may be too old. Essentially we were signed up for the bus and they pulled up with a bus load of folks from Hedo. It was me, my wife and our daughters who were 18 and 22 at the time. There was one other couple on the bus who weren't with the Hedo people. They begged us to not leave them alone with them after we were ready to bail after the first stop. They were licking each other at the bars and having sex on the bus while others were in the bars. We ran into booger and some others we knew from this board who joined us for the last stop for sunset. We had Lenbert drop us at a jerk place on the way back and ran into the other boardies there and shared stories over dinner. According to the other "normal" couple, it got way worse after we left.

    Found it: https://negril.com/forum/showthread....t=swiss+family
Here's what I wrote at the time: We were on the same trip that Booger jumped on. I'll try to tell the story edited enough so it won't get deleted.
I had booked the bus for my wife and I and our two girls, ages 18 and 22.
The bus pulled up and Lembert got out, took one look at us and said, are you sure it's ok, I've got a bunch of people from Hedo on there. I said, they are both over 18, it should be ok, without really thinking it through.
The bus was totally packed, but they made some room for us near the front. We were seated near another couple, who as it turned out, were the only other ones not from Hedo.
The Hedo folks were already pretty lit, but not doing anything real inappropriate, at least not then. Mostly an older crowd, very friendly.
We got to the first stop and had a drink. I chatted with Lembert who told me some sketchy stuff that was going on before we got on.
Second stop, some of the women started taking their tops off and taking pictures.
A stop later, while we were getting back on the bus, my wife noticed some folks that were already on the bus were engaged in some activities that should have remained at Hedo.
Once this started going on, Lembert was very apologetic and made sure we sat up front where we could avoid seeing things that couldn't be unseen.
We considered getting off the bus at that point, but the other couple begged us to not leave us alone with them.
We ran into Booger and his gang at Seastar and a few of them joined us to go to another bar for sunset. We realized we knew each other from this website.
We then decided to get dropped off at DeBar for dinner and as it turned out, Booger and a few others ended up there as well and we all had dinner together. Funny how things tend to turn out in Negril.
I had some contact with the other couple through Tripadvisor and she told me it got "way worse" after we left.
Lembert figured out that it was a bad idea to mix the lifestyle folks with us regular people, so I doubt this experience would happen again.
    What a crazy evening!
