We saw them today going by Alfred's. They were at least twice the distance out from the swimming bouys. They were going maybe 10 knots. There were three, all in a straight line.

I still personally think that they are too close, but they were no where near the swimming zone at Alfred's.

Rob, not sure when you saw them but I saw 4 between the raft and swimming bouys around 1:00. I don't know their speed but they were not "flying" past. I tried to get a pix but my camera was in the case and I missed them.

My thoughts were maybe a knee jerk reaction( And I am saying that respectfully) based on the reputation the jetski's had. IMO- as long as they remain far enough out and cruise as a safe speed no harm done. My childhood weekends were spent on one of the top rivers for Skiing in TX and I have seen my fair share of crazy drivers and witnessed several wrecks... Lets see if they are there early May when I arrive.

I just got back yesterday and I saw them twice. They were going straight and fast, not near the swimming markers. I think you are taking a risk being in the water past the markers. There are boats out there parasailing and pulling people on Big Mabel inflatables.

    I'm with you, Cleome & Cd1523.
BIG Mabel makes me more worried for those that are swimming freely outside of the buoys.

This horse may be dead, but I took some photos last week. The boats came by daily, and it was always the same, there were either two or three speedboats, Jamaicans always in lead boats and white tourists in the one or two boats following. It was clear and sometimes one of the Jamaicans would sit backwards like a ski spotter watching the tourist boat. They came by daily at least once. I also saw the boats once up around Canoe bar.

It's a professional setup. Safe and supervised.

In the same vein have you seen the caravan of green minis on the road? Same idea. Self drive with a guide.

Yah mon, we do it here in Florida all over the state every day. The thread seemed to lack any real pics and I tried to give a description of what is taking place, watched them go by every day, no problems. We thought it looked like fun actually! I have not seen the green minis? Every trip new and exciting things to do in Negril, great for the community!
