Just returned from a 7 day trip to Traveller's, a short stay for us but that is all we could fit in at this time, so we made the best of it.
For once, after flight delays on the last 4 trips in a row the flight took off and landed 10 mins early in MOBAY. We were off quickly and the CLUB MOBAY rep was of course waiting. There was almost no one in the Customs line at 10am so we didn't really save a whole bunch of time at that point. We waited about 30 mins for bags which seemed like forever and the airport was beginning to get busier, must have been a couple planes that followed. The waiter at CLUB MOBAY dropped 4 glasses of Red Stripe off in front of me and two to the Boss Lady, he said he remembered me from last time and I drank "lots of Red Stripe mon."
Joe Cool taxi was waiting and we were off!
Check in at Traveller's was of course smooth as usual and our room was ready and waiting. We didn't jump around a lot this trip as it was just a short trip so I won't bore with a lot of details, just include some highlights and observations.
We had one of the best trips out of the 12 we have taken, met some really great people and just had a really smooth experience all around. Negril has gotten easier and easier to vacation over the years in our opinion, lots of resorts and restaurants have really stepped it up.
We made some friends at the resort and enjoyed their company so much we all planned a return trip together. Traveller's has become our home and we stayed on property much more than we ever have.
We rented a scooter for a couple days and hit some of our favorite spots, The Westender, Negril Escape where we left our cell phone at the bar and David the manager whos is obviously a saint found us through Facebook and kept our phone safe until we returned! We also hit Pee Wee's, Wine with Me, and a few others. Lots of new construction and remodeling going on, vastly different from when we first started coming and everything seemed on the decline.
Some interesting moments at the resort, there were 5 women and 1 man there with Jamican hook ups. Made for some interesting conversation and a bit of drama. One of the Jamaicans earned a life time ban from the resort for threatening a security guard. We watched it all go down and got pretty intense. Most of the folks said they had met their "partners" on Facebook, this seemed to be trending for sure. The resort actually had to impose some new rules for "visitors" as it was becoming an issue.
Great dinners at Sunrise, Jamaica Caio and wonderful breakfasts at Travellers.
So much to do in Negril, it continues to be the most perfect vacation spot in the world for us!
One Love!
