Family of 5 Advice - Next April

My husband and I fell in love with Jamaica on our honeymoon in 2009. We returned again for our 5 year anniversary. Next April, we are booked with a group of "travel friends" at Somewhere West and have tacked on 4 days to spend on the beach. I like to have everything nailed down way in advance so am trying to get it organized now. We were thinking about the rustic cottage at Kuyaba, bc my family really can stay anywhere and is used to camping out. The price is a great deal. However, I started thinking about how nice it would be to have a pool and am looking elsewhere. It's very hard to book online for a family of 5. For example, Cocolapalm - when I put 5 people into the search on the travel websites nothing comes up. When I put 4, they have rooms that it seems I could easily add a crib to for my toddler. What should I do? Stay with the rustic cottage? Call the hotel and ask if the room can hold 4 plus baby before booking? Look elsewhere? Wait to book?

Thank you so much for your advice! I have been creeping on this forum for YEARS. It's great to see so many people are still the same (and so many ppl are also on TA).

Rondel village has 1,2 or 3 bedroom villas.

There are family sized units with a pool at Crystal Waters, White Sands, Tree house...
I would email or call the hotels and ask questions. You can book directly with many hotels here also.

Yes, thank you - even though I know there are not usually great deals to be had booking directly, I'd rather get the type of room we need. Although my family can deal with the late-night noise and the basic rustic cabins at Kuyaba, I'm thinking we really should have a pool. I reached out to Treehouse about their suites, bc I haven't been able to book them online for the dates we need (maybe they are already sold out?) Thanks for the suggestions. If Treehouse isn't available, I will also reach out to those hotels.

We travel there with our 2 young ones and always on the look for the perfect spot. Treehouse was great with the pool and nice easy breakfast included. We were just there and stayed at Negril beach Club condos for first time, mainly to scope out if good for our next family trip. They have bigger units that had a separate bedroom and another bed tucked into a nook type space and also a pull out in the living area. We will look into this spot for future as there is a full kitchen, big balcony space, and pool. 2 units also connect to make one big one. It isn't the newest place but all was clean and functioning. We paid 65 cash for the one night so is a good deal. full restaurant on site looked decent and staff was very nice and seemed accommodating and used to children there. Plus a big beach area and many trees for shade for little ones. We went direct to Deandra, Jean Gaynair, but there are some units on air BnB as well for a bit more. We always look for a pool, AC, and a kitchen when traveling with the kids. We also checked out the cabins at Westender that are really nice but you would need a car way down there or spend lots on taxis. We have also considered Ocean Wave villas across the street from beach.

I have stayed with my wife at the rustic cabin at Kuyaba. We had a great time, but my wife grew up a farm girl and creepy crawlies don't scare her. Had to light a mosquitto coil a couple of nights, you can see daylight through some of the boards on the walls. All of this didn't bother me, or her, we actually named one of the bathroom critters Leroy. What did bother us was the super loud music from the Bourbon Beach. Love Bourbon Beach, but 3am every night? We were exhausted. Now there are more music venues at that end of the beach. Would be tough with little ones.

We were staying at Country Country a few years back. We met a family staying at Crystal Waters. I think it would be perfect for a family.

I have a unit at Negril Beach Club … 1 bedroom with 2 doubles and an additional double and fold out sofa. Full kitchen, a/c and clean and fun and cozy. Contact NBC, Jean or Deandra and refer this contact.
