We get in at 3:00 p.m. on NYE, so I want to kind of have a plan. Thanks for any suggestions
Here is a poster from last years Fireworks Show at Alfreds. It is an annual event and draws a big crowd.

cleveland9, when you say ''family'' do you have young children ? As Accompong posted, Alfred's is the place to be for New Years, but not with youngsters. If you are staying at the Riu,i am guessing they will have a celebration of some sort.

My guess is you all will have a blast. New Years this year was hopping, and the vibe on the beach, even late into the night was on point. I would feel comfortable taking my 15/21 along for the ride.

cleveland9, okay, wasn't sure how young...that age they will have an awesome time in Negril. I think you can make a day of it, take the family up to Rick's café, the boys will enjoy watching the divers dive from the cliffs. There is a nice pool, as well. A little spendy there, but good for maybe some wings and drinks. Then you can have some dinner at one of the amazing places on the cliffs, a higher buck place would be Ivan's at Catch a falling star resort, or maybe a more casual but equally delicious place like Chicken Lavish. Lots of places to wander up there, and then go to the beach . There will lots of activity, and as mentioned, Alfred's puts on a really great fireworks display. Also a lot of times they have a fun volleyball game going on, and a swimming dock to swim out to, so, again , would be fun for the boys ~
