January/4 weeks stay/Remote worker/Studio?Tank Hill?

Hi boardies! I got back from my last trip to Negril a few weeks ago, had a lovely stay (of course). I've already booked a flight for January and will stay for 4 weeks <3

I'm working remotely and this time I'm looking for a studio (or bigger) that's safe, clean, has a small kitchenette, fridge, A/C and preferably not too far from town (I'm open to suggestions here however, for the right property and price I'd consider venturing out).

It does not have to be fancy, but it's important that it has wifi.

I have a contact in Negril who has offered to rent a guest house up on Tank Hill for 300USD a month. I stayed at that guest house for a few days during my last trip and I didn't feel unsafe. I take care of myself wherever I go. But, I've been cautioned by both expats and locals not to stay there. So...

- What do you think about Tank Hill? Many of you have spent many years in Negril and I'd really appreciate your advise.

- My budget is 900USD max., is there anyone on this forum that might know someone who has a place to rent that's within my budget or who might even have a property that they're renting themselves? The plan is to return to JA in Jan/Feb on a yearly basis moving forward and work remotely from there, so if I find the right place to stay you can expect to see me back the following year.

I live in the Negril area, but I don't live in or near Tank Hill.
I can't tell you what it's actually like to live up there, but the Tank Hill area has had its issues in the recent past.
If you're willing to spend up to $900us for a month...I would phone/email a few hotel properties and ask them for long term rates. Most of these properties will have everything you require plus the bonus of security on the property.

Hey Bnewb, thanks for your comments, I really appreciate it.

I'm fine living in a local community, as long as I'm safe using common sense. I also wouldn't mind staying on the beach if I have a unit with kitchenette/porch and it's close-ish to town.

I will take your advise and contact a few hotel properties and see what they say. So far I've been told that Coletta's might be an option, but she has been abroad. I have a couple of more places in mind.

If you have any recommendations (or maybe you know someone that's renting properties that I could speak with?), please let me know.

I found a property that ticks almost all my boxes. I will be staying in West End for the first time which I'm looking forward to. This will also be my longest visit to Negril ever @ 4 whole weeks. Can't wait!

I'm arriving on January 9th and will head off to Kingston for 5 weeks on February 6. March 13 I come back to Negril for my final 4 weeks before I fly back to Europe.

A bit about me. I'm self-employed and I work remote (tech/IT/Blockchain/affiliate/online/marketing). I'm a runner, I like to go to the gym, play soccer, swim etc.
Music, food, World Cup (soccer) and getting to know new people is also on my list of all time fav things in life.

I've been working from Zion Hill when i'm home in Jamaica.

It's gotten better and better with good band width and call forwarding from my office phone. I also do IT and my clients don't really know when I'm in Jamaica or Florida. Nor does it make a difference.

Zion Hill is my home. It's about a 25 minute drive to Negril.
