I've stayed there a number of times and paid the high price for the penthouse suite as well as the one below it. It was a really nice place but either because the owner wasn't around or for other reasons it seemed a bit sketchy. I completely understand the culture of Jamaica and realize everyone needs to make a living, but I don't really go for having working girls hanging around during the day. I was a bit put off, but it is Jamaica after all. Over all it is a nice place.

That's interesting. We have never experienced any sketchy-ness, but as you said, this may have occurred when Charlie (the owner) was off site. Generally, the property is local-friendly but any visitors are stopped at the office, unless they are a paying customer at the restaurant/bar. Were the working girls just lounging around the resort or were they guests of someone staying at the hotel? If it's the latter, I wouldn't be too surprised. On our last trip, a women stayed there a week with her rent-a-dread. They were both actually pretty cool, so we didn't feel any bad vibes. Whatever they did in their hotel room is their own business.

Mike, There were guests of dudes staying at the hotel, not just trolling the hotel. There was a real loud guy on his phone all the time talking to his wife and kids and blah, blah, blah. I felt for his date as she just to sit there and wait it out. It was just kinda creepy. Definitely not a family friendly vibe.

In my 28 trips to Negril, Home Sweet Home has become my favorite go-to place to stay. HSH is a relatively small (17 room) property that provides a fantastic cliff side sea experience in a very comfortable, quiet, relaxing, clean, predictable and safe setting. The staff have always made me feel like extended family and continually provided friendly, responsive customer service. Owner Charlie built this place from scratch 34-ish years ago and from everything I see, he continues to work diligently in taking great care of not just his property, but also his staff.

In my 28 trips to Negril, Home Sweet Home has become my favorite go-to place to stay. HSH is a relatively small (17 room) property that provides a fantastic cliff side sea experience in a very comfortable, quiet, relaxing, clean, predictable and safe setting. The staff have always made me feel like extended family and continually provided friendly, responsive customer service. Owner Charlie built this place from scratch 34-ish years ago and from everything I see, he continues to work diligently in taking great care of not just his property, but also his staff.

Wow!! he built it from scratch that's impressive! I'll be staying there for the first time in November and heard nothing but good things about the place cant wait to experience it for myself!

First you said "I don't really go for having working girls hanging around during the day" then you say "There (They) were guests of dudes staying at the hotel" if they were guest how you assume they are working girls?
