Negril board might not be the right place to ask but has anyone been to this resort in Runaway Bay? It looks pretty nice. I was thinking of booking yet another trip & trying something different (always gone to Negril) but don't want to be disappointed & long for Negril.
I stayed for three nights in April before moving to negril for the remainder of the week. I wanted to go to nine mile. Overall, I felt that the hotel was as expected, but what I found was that after being in negril for so many stays, an all inclusive just didn’t do it for me. I ended up going to a beach bar down the road two of the three days just to get off resort. I was turned off by the crazy, excessive tipping at the bars (I dont mind tipping-allowed places, but it was out of control and I hated carrying my wallet around the hotel). Also, as a single, this was not my favorite hotel. There were some daytime activities but they seemed geared towards the many groups that were there. I originally booked what used to be Jewel Dunn’s river. I think it’s taken the Playa branding now. I wish I had kept that res. as I believe it would have been more single-traveler friendly based on reviews. I don’t think I would return to the JPC. Like I said, the hotel was beautiful and as expected, just not for me and the tipping was crazy.
