Received a text from Digicel earlier this year that my phone was LTE ready, but had to upgrade my SIM.
After some fun not having my PUK number, I finally got a new SIM with the same number. The phone connected to the new LTE signal and speeds went up appropriately.
The latest news of LTE now being available is a bit puzzling since we have been discussing this in Negril since May...
