Make sure it is a gsm quad band phone. That will work with most sim cards when unlocked, as well as digicell.

As stated elsewhere, not all US phones will work. 1. Must be a GSM (sim card) type phone. 2. Must be a Quad Band (four frequency). 3 Must be unlocked (to accept any sim card)
A used AT&T is the cheapest to unlock ($.99 on eBay), and phones can be had cheap there too. I personally recommend a Razr V3 but there are many other models that will do the job.
