This actually shows two banks in Negril (Scotia and NCB) and one cambio (FX Trader). Sagicor is a new bank, but only has an ATM in Negril.

Here is a link to the FX Trader should the above link be out of date...

Folks a quick question if you don't mind. I appreciate US dollars are accepted by most and have had no problems in the past however I would be happier spending Jamaican dollars with Jamaicans rather than US dollars. Do you guys prefer US dollars or JA dollars?

Either is fine. But by paying in Jamaican dollars you are saving Jamaicans a trip to the cambio.

Jamaican dollars are legal tender in Jamaica, obviously, and the expenses, water, current, phone, etc. everyone pays are in J$.

I will give whatever is listed on the menu or price board. If it's in JA, I use JAD. If it is in US, I give USD. That is, unless I'm only carrying one or the other. I do prefer to spend local currency when I am visiting anywhere I go.
