    A gorgeous morning

The sun was shining and the sea was calm. The guy with the megaphone took to the water today.

These small speed boats, running in packs of 5, start off far out on their way to the cliffs. But, on the return trip, get really too close to the swimmers.

I have brought these boats up many times , they get to close. the jet skis got banned forgetting close, and killing a tourist.. Hopefully it won't take another tragedy for this to stop. It is a big ocean , no reason that they need to get so close to the swimming areas.

I agree!! Police boat should be warning the speed boats....NOT the swimmers!

    NoWorries4 me...I respectfully disagree.
I think everyone should be reminded to be cautious/play safe...boats and swimmers.
There was no need for the swimmer to go out as far as he had, unattended...quite a ways past the swimming lines/buoys.

I've watched the routine of these guided speed boats many times..they speed out of their AI complex area into the cliff area and then make their way back at a slower pace nearer the beach/swimming lines. I've seen the Tiki Bar & fishing boats go along the same beach line just as quickly. Don't get me wrong though...I don't think the boats should be this close either...as too many swimmers tend to go outside those lines.

It would be ideal, if everyone would just play with common sense and water safety in mind!!

They should have a few buoys out a bit further to create a buffer zone where neither swimmer or boats should be. Like a previous poster said, it’s a big ocean. There’s plenty of room for the boats, and only a limited amount for swimmers. I’m not as worried about the experienced fishermen and glass bottom boat captains as I am a possibly inexperienced, possibly impaired “captain” living it up on vacation. A buffer zone at least leaves some room for error.

Yes, lets warn the boats. It is true swimmers can be snorkeling and not pay attention if they get outside the ropes, but they shouldn't have to worry if they do, to get whacked by a boat. Also, I assume Alfred's puts their dock out to swim to, and that is way beyond the roped area. I use to love to swim out there butwon't anymore. John's idea is great, a buffer zone. These boats are getting to close for advertisement .

You're right. I should have said warn the boats as well as the swimmers.

Beautiful photos! Those boats look fast and fun! My wife and I might give them a try on our next trip.
