Driver and bus cost per day.

How much can I expect to pay to hire a driver with his own bus per day?

So I can go wherever I like (gas costs extra) for the whole day

Not per person or per tour

Have any of you done this?

Referrals needed.

Must be fully insured and legal.

I would highly recommend Chicken as well. We've known him since 1990 and he's a great friend. He has a beautiful bus that seats 28, he's a good driver (in fact sometimes cars pass him), reliable, always on time, and a lot of fun. I can't help you on his rates for an entire day but I'm sure you'll get a fair price.

He usually replies to emails in about 2-3 days, but he ALWAYS answers his phone, so if you need him right away, best way to get him is by his phone!

If you call Chicken just ring his phone once then hang up. He will call you back so it doesn't cost you anything. If he doesn't call back in a reasonable amount of time try again. As Marley said emails may take a few days but he will respond.

Yes Chicken - exactly who I was going to recommend. He'll generally do a per-day deal with you, and if you pay for gas that takes a lot of the distance variable out of the equation.
