Was thinking of taking a "nested" round-trip MBJ-Toronto-MBJ in mid-August to visit my parents. But I fear that would confuse the customs & immigration people on both ends. Maybe I'll skip it to avoid problems.

I wish the world was borderless. "Human being, citizen of the planet Earth" is how I want to answer nationality questions. Sigh ...
Rtitle...most everything is computerized now...it shouldn't be confusing to anyone.
You're legally allowed a total of a 180 day stay in a calendar year in Jamaica...unless you have citizenship, residency, a work permit, etc to stay longer.

I should mention for those that don't know and are wanting to stay for approx. 6 months...the airport immigration will not give you more than 90 days. Once you're in Jamaica...you will then have to apply at Montego Bay or Kingston immigration for a further 90 day stay.
