First Time Visitor With a Few Questions

Very excited to be coming down for a week in April, and have been researching some things we would like to do. While looking at YFalls I noticed it is only $20 for admittance but is $100+ each if we take a tour bus or something. I was thinking I could rent a car for the entire week for just a little more. Are there less expensive ways to get there and back? We will be staying at a resort on Bloody Bay.

    Thank you.

Hi! Reach out to my friend Charles Campbell at 876.369.8817. I’ve known him for 3 years. Registered and licensed. Great, safe driver full of information. Enjoy your vacay!

I would wait until you've experienced the ride from the airport to where you are staying before you rent a car. Unless you plan on going somewhere every day, or even if you do, as sandytoes mentioned there are a multitude of great trustworthy reasonable drivers on the island. Red plated are the taxi's you want to use, they are insured. However from a long time Negril traveler be prepared to be overcome by sand gravity.

Czunc...as Irine suggested above...it can be a bit crazy driving yourself, especially if you've never been here before.
I would email some of the drivers on the list below that have been vetted by Negril.com.
Each driver offers different tour packages & pricing and you can get a idea with whom you may feel the most comfortable.

Thanks for the fast replies and tips. Just trying to budget and wanted a ballpark figure of what transport there and back would run us without any 'tour'.

I would consider taking a day trip to Black River, YS falls and Appleton's rum factory. I would prefer to let someone else navigate the roads and enjoy the scenery. Please note, that it won't be easy to do things budget if you want to sight see. Be prepared to hand out some tips too. If you have booked an all inclusive, your travel company will offer some day trips, but as everyone has said you can also do the red plate taxi. Mayfield falls is also very nice.
