Face it folks. it's a world gone mad right now. Irrational toilet paper and spam hoarding, people afraid to answer their front door for fear of getting infected. Half the world is shut down and the other half soon to follow. Guess we'll just have to hunker down until the hysteria passes. Traveling anywhere right now is a risk that many do not wish to take. Not just because of the virus, but you may be stranded for weeks, if not months. I can think of a lot worse places than Negril to wait this crap out, but that could get expensive. Besides, hotels and restaurants are closing, and entertainment is limited. I suppose I could smoke dope and drink Red Stripes all day, but I can do that at home. All our travel plans are on ice until the world gets back to normal, whatever that is.

Anybody who goes to Jamaica now considering the situation and circumstances is plain out of your mind crazy!!! Nothing about this pandemic is improving but is getting worse by the day everywhere. Do yourself and everybody else a favor and stay home!!!

I just cancelled my mid April trip. I'll probably end up cancelling my July trip as well. Waiting to see how this plays out.

We are in a holding pattern to see what happens..our reach is supposed to start on June 6. I'm thinking worst case bump to 1st week in August..or just postpone to next year..

Anybody changing plans? Well, I wasn't, but my great airline -- Air Transat -- changed them for me, citing government restrictions, by beginning to cancel all flights out from 22nd onward. Yet Air Canada has flights every day beyond that. Calling AT the advice was: if you can get a seat on another airline, you should do so...but we won't cover it, and in fact we are not going to give you a refund, just a travel credit that you can use until Dec 31.

Thanks for nothing, Air Transat. I won't be traveling with you anymore.

Seems to me Air Transat did you a favor.

If you saw my post then you see that Air Canada is NOT flying either now.

Definitely an Air Transat issue. I agree that you should never use them again.

I was planning to go March 25th but ended up cancelling. Will try to go end of April if possible. I have a planned vacation to Grand Cayman May 31 and I am hoping it still happens.
