Looks like no one goes to the island for at least the next 2 weeks after today, Saturday, March 21, 2020. Jamaica is shutting off all air and sea arrivals. Southwest airlines has canceled all flights out of Chicago. Hotels are closing in Ja .
Mi Lady and I have a June 9 reach planned with our granddaughter. I am not even sure about that.
My flight, which I could not have managed, was changed to the 25th from the 26th. Yesterday Air Canada sent me a message to say that they were cancelling the flight. The good news is that the ticket will be good for the next 22 months. I hope ot see everyone before then. Stay safe.

We have been going to Negril every March for 18 years. This year we had to change to a mid June vacation due to work schedules..Hoping we can go but things are not encouraging..
Got an email from the travel agency, our trip (April 11-18) was cancelled. While I hate it for us, I can't begin to imagine how much pain this is causing the citizens of Jamaica. Hopefully, I will reschedule for the near future.
I;ve been in jamaica since feb 5 and negril since 2/24. I've been pretty must self isolated long before it was called for. I was suppose to leave 5/20 but received an email from SW stating that flights will begin 5/21. I have an extension but ja is waiving any overstays under the circumstances. its pretty quiet here, the fruit has tried to eek out a living but i think she's given up. only excitement was the boat drama! I spend my days doing healthy things i would not/could not do at home like walking around the complex and swimming in the pool. I have mobility issues so am not comfortable swimming in the sea by myself. I'm enjoying the quiet and solitude...being a solo traveler, this is right up my alley. I always wanted my own deserted island.....now i have it!

Back when I found this forum, a mere couple weeks ago, I was supposed to arrive in late May! But due to the turn of events afterwards, I had to postpone the trip for a further, unknown, date. I could, at least, get a part of the price of the plane tickets back, but that's all. I really hope this epidemic will be over fast, let's hope it won't last longer than it did in China...
