our reach is in the first full week in June. Hoping things have stabilized by then...but we are keeping an eye out.

We have plans for May. I have a feeling the decision to come will not be up to us. As this virus spreads I think JA might close the borders to us like they did to other countries....or the US will be on lockdown like Italy is experiencing right now. Just my own opinion and I do hope it doesn’t come to this but JA would suffer much more than we could imagine.

My 25 cents. As a nurse of 30 years, it freaks me out that peeps are so dirty. I cant even tell you how many times i see peeps ignore even hand washing after bathroom duty. Hey , am not sure how my booked trip to negril is going to work out at this point. However, perhaps this time is a brilliant learning lesson? As in, washing hands?

Time to look at positives! I heard today that Jam has 1 case and she is quarantined. Also, Jamaicans wont even walk in the rain. I know that myself. Dang, if i try to educate. Nope! Lets plz not get crazy! For perspective—- as a nurse with an accidental needle stick, i got tested for a bunch, HIV, Hep C, TB. I received false positives on 2 lab tests. Hey, have nothing! A gf nurse friend of mine also received false positives. Thats a year of anxiety. Let’s put this into Perspective. After all of that, not so worried about a virus. Be careful and concerned, yes. Freak out, no.

First of all, there are two confirmed cases now. Won't even walk in the rain? a joke? I don't know where in Jamaica you go but where I go they all walk when they need to walk regardless of the weather.

An anecdotal personal case can not be extrapolated into this scenario. Good for you that you have nothing.

Agree that this is no time to freak out but, to not worry about this or any virus because of what you went through doesn't apply to the rest of us. I am concerned for Jamaicans especially in Kingston where the population is generally poor and crowded together in less than perfect living conditions. This was the same scenario that made both Zika and ChikV such a problem.

    again...my opinion.

My group have decided to cancel for now, mainly because we do not want to bring anything in, and we do not want to be responsible for that in a country with such limited health care, I pains me not to be down there spending my money for the benefit of all the great people who serve us.

We are going to ask Idle awhile to rebook us for the summer .

I think person-to-person transmission is a much bigger problem than a mosquito vector - especially when asymptomatic people can spread it. Hopefully this thing stalls with sunlight and warm ambient temperatures.
