Re: Southwest Airlines
Southwest cancelled and won't return early bird. They said the pandemic allows them to cancel and not return fees.
My hotel came through and offered a full refund. We'll try to get in a week with them later this year if we can. At any rate we'll definitely go there again next trip. We will plan our time around their availability.
My driver gave a credit for a year. I would push for a refund but I'm sure he needs it more than us. That $130 I don't begrudge. And we may still make it within the next year.

Re: Southwest Airlines
If it were me, I'd ask them for specific reference to why they think they don't need to return the fees if they cancel the flight. According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, they have to, and I see nothing from the government saying otherwise.

Of course, if you rebook, or accept whatever changes they propose, then that's that. But any time your airline cancels your flight and offers you a schedule change as a result, you should first look to see what tickets are selling for right now, then decide whether to have them refund your ticket and fees then independently rebook online, or just accept what they're offering. Not surprisingly, no airline will tell you about this.

Re: Southwest Airlines
Hello All , I hope this finds everyone well. I spent 2 hours on the phone with Delta today. We were supposed to be flying to Alaska for a cruise in May. Delta just changed their policy to use your credits was expanded till 2 yrs. Maybe Southwest will follow suit. We booked for November. The rep told me she had been booking flights all day for November. I know one thing the flights were definately more expensive. At least I didnt have to spend any $$ today and had credits left over.
