24/7 from Minnesota today
Hope this post finds everyone well! I am on holiday early doing remote work during self quarantine. I waited for all my PreRegistered clients to leave Negril. My flight out was March 24th, leaving one client behind that chose to stay. She still has me 24/7 for phone triage, advise or assistance if she became ill.
I have some clients/hotels that reach out during the summer but I hope no one down there needs help during this Covid 19 outbreak, hotels mostly all down so no worries there. There still are plenty of UK/USA/Canadians that have stayed by choice or cancelled flights in Negril. Availability of ventilators, not enough people in self quarantine, possible increase in crime (due to no work for high numbers of shop/hotel staff) as well as low numbers of C19 on the island were my motivators to head back to Minnesota to get ready to assist here after self quarantine. There are strict guidelines to follow when coming in from abroad as a healthcare professional. I wait (self quarantine) to be eligible to donate plasma and will work from home doing C19 screening/telehealth calls for now.
I hope the people in Jamaica comply with government requests so we can recover and have a nice winter next year! I am happy to hear they are addressing rent/food issues for Jamaicans! I anticipate another great season next year. Everybody stay safe. Thanks for allowing me to provide service to you this year! Nurse Beth
