Negril.com - For the vacation that never ends!
Not sure how many tourist will be coming back with the current requirements. Just found out from our resort that mask will be required and social distancing will be enforced. We don’t want to come back under those conditions. It cost a lot of money for a 10 day stay And with the conditions we will have to comply with, I’m not sure I can justify spending the money. Sorry
If those requirements are still in effect when we are scheduled to return in Feb. 2021, I don't think we will be coming back. If they are going to have 6 feet social distancing, there will not be enough room on the beach for everyone to enjoy. I won't enjoy my vacation very much wearing a mask all day in the heat and humidity, plus I don't want to walk around and see everyone else in masks all day.
If they still have that requirement in Feb. 2021, it probably won't be because of covid-19 outbreaks in Jamaica it will be because of uncontrolled outbreaks in countries like the US, UK, etc..Originally Posted by Sasmith
In that case, you (if you are still around) will probably be used to the mask and social distancing to the point that it will be second nature to use it in Jamaica. However, I think it will not be the norm when you return in Feb 2021.

I do agree that Jamaica has done a great job in containing the virus. I have been working in a factory, around people everyday since this pandemic started and have not contacted it yet. I do not plan on going on vacation and have to worry about trying to keep 6 feet distancing and looking at everyone in masks. That would not be a vacation to me. I am fine if the government officials decide if that will be the new norm but I am not spending close to $5,000.00 US to go on vacation and have this happen.
the great thing about snorkeling/swimming in Negril is that you can't wear a health mask......lol
as time goes on more Protocols probably be relaxed....things will work themselves out
otherwise Tourist won't go to Jamaica to vacation like yourselves.....

I know I can't come down until the masks are gone. I can barely breathe in them here so I'm afraid the heat & humidity would be unbearable. I'm hoping for Nov. but we'll see. I certainly hope it ends by then. I have never even been able to snorkel because of the mask. I panic in them. I think I must be slightly claustrophobic when it comes to having something on my face.
Masks are a deal breaker for me as well. Actually, all the restrictions right now will keep me from returning anytime soon... hopefully as time goes by, they will lift most of them.
Where are the list of protocols? I haven't been able to find much of anything besides the generic stuff.
