    The "clicks" were on social media where she spread the lies. NBC reported this and suggesting it was a lie. Certainly a worthy story, that presented a rebuttal to her claims. While they (NBC) do get income from online content they are primarily broadcast media where they get their revenue from TV advertising, not "clicks".
