    More Photos from 1972

These are poor quality photos from my first trip to Negril in October 1972. I will try to get the captions correct.

Porters Cottage the way it looked way back then. You would not recognize it now as it is much larger and appears to be run down. It is on the big curve in Red Ground

    rjonsun,
It seems as though Negril but specifically Red Ground has a lot of Johnson's!!
Did you ever know Mortimer Johnson, a former MoBay taxi driver who lived up in Reg Ground and rented rooms to visitors

Oh yes, I remember Mortimer! Those photos are just as I remember.
And some people called her Grand Mom Johnson, some Grand Mom Porter. Jim and I got to see her and daughter Jenny a while before she passed in 2007. When we first arrived Jenny was a young teenager and would bring our food to the cottage. I understand she also passed a few years ago.

One more thing. Jim passed into eternity on January 29, 2020 after a long battle with cancer.

Jim was the fellow that I first traveled to Jamaica with in 1972. We grew up on the same street and were life long friends. We later traveled to Colombia, South America where, believe it or not, joined a circus.

    Bob
