Years ago we brought two adult sons with wives for their first trip and chose Llentrissant, the colonial house in the curve just up the hill from the old Hi-Lo. The house was big enough for all of us and came with a small staff, including Ms. P. who ran the house and cooked. We talked with her about meals and then walked down to Hi-Lo and let her do all the shopping. I can still see the parade going back up the hill with four clerks in blue vests in line, each pushing a shopping cart and Ms. P. leading the way. I got in front to flag traffic, terrified that someone rounding the curve would wipe out the whole endeavor. All clerks received big tips (hazardous duty pay) and the rest of the stay was Irie. So, yes, under certain circumstances Hi-Lo delivers (Ms P. had a lot to do with it, lol).
