That being said, it's like that in Negril because a lot of foreign women come down for that exact reason to hook up. So if you're not interested in a romantic experience with an individual who approaches you then make that bluntly clear because a lot of women are there for that and it's easy to be mistaken as one when flying solo. In my opinion Negril is perfectly safe for a solo female traveler who exercises the same amount of caution they would traveling to any big city in the US when alone especially if you have a trusted driver/guide. Just my two cents.
