I saw and talked to her earlier this year and she was very weak...it was difficult for her to carry the basket..such a nice lady. She has been so gracious and kind and always gives thanks no matter what the circumstances are.
A true dear heart. She was moving slow in October '22 and February '23.
I'm sad to say that it was reported on the Real Jamaica Islandwide Vybz page that she has passed away. Perhaps Rob can confirm. She was certainly a fixture on the beach and will be missed.
Her cousin has now posted that although she is ill she is still alive.
This is EXACTLY why we don't post everything we hear on the Negril Rumour Mill. Don't believe anything you read on FB, if it's not corroborated by a legit source, it is generally not true. I could find no evidence she had died.
Anyone who has seen her during the past decade knows her health is not the best, but she is obviously a tough, strong woman and we all wish her a miraculous recovery. We need her wonderful fruits on the beach!
