I remember seeing an odd mini van thingy driving around town during Covid. It had an odd periscope thing on top. No wording on the vehicle, just very strange looking.

Yesterday I saw the Google van heading up the West End! It had the periscope up and was doing its 360 degrees photo thing!

The article is 4 years old, so hopefully Google has stopped this absurd practice.
And there is nothing to really "beware" of since there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. It's completely up to Google.
Hopefully all these things will come out in their antitrust lawsuit.
