Every year we try to take a walk back into Deep Red Ground. We give our friend Markie a couple of bucks (actually more than that!) to guide us and keep us safe. I'm normally not to worried about safety, but we would get lost every time without Markie. We started off at Blossoms Restaurant which is right across the street from the Negril Firehouse. There is no sign out front and the breakfast menu changes everyday on the chalk board. The food is good and the prices are some of the cheapest you will find. Normally we get the medium plate which is $750 JD. Blossoms is usually pretty busy, but there is always a place to sit. Markie took us there a few years back and it is our go-to breakfast place when we are in town. They also have lunch and dinner but we haven't eaten there for those meals. Anyway, we met Markie there at 9 AM and had a filling breakfast and then headed up the road toward Red Dragon. As a side note, Markie always gets a large portion for breakfast then polishes off anything that we don't eat. You would never know he could eat so much as skinny as he is. We walked up past Red Dragon and took a few photos at the water tanks overlooking 7 mile beach. After that short stop we kept going up the hill and eventually took a right through some properties. Markie was greeting friends all along the way. Soon there were fewer and fewer houses and then just a trail. He would tell us about the trees and plants as we passed them. About an hour into the trip we came to Fuzzy's house, but he wasn't home. We kept walking and soon were on our way downhill. We popped out on the road right next to Quality's Restaurant on One Love Drive. It is always a nice leisurely walk and we see new things each time.
Regards,
Bob
