Nearby spots: Alfreds is decent for lunch. Known for their fish and chips. Sweet Spot is a good cheap spot nearby also. It's a cook shop style place with standard Jamaican fare such as curried chicken, brown stewed chicken, oxtail, curry goat, etc.... A little more upscale and still in walking distance is the Italian Cafe. Kuyaba is beachside and nice spot for upscale dinner. It's about 1/3 mile from Rondel.

If you're willing to take a cab to the west end I consider Ivan's at Catcha Falling Star to be one of the best ocean view restaurants in Negril. It's a good place to go for a sunset and upscale dinner. More modest with an ocean view is Swordfish. Tensing Pen and Rockhouse are both upscale and on the same level as Ivan's. Downtown Sweet Spice is a good spot for a sit down casual dinner.

Is sweet spot across the street or on the beach itself? I see it also has a mini mart, which could be helpful to have nearby.

Yes it is across the street from the beach. Almost directly across from Alfreds. Very close to the Shamrock Grocery Store which a lot of people love buying their fresh made orange juice from.
