We decided to visit Erroll Flynn's marina on the way out of town. It's like night and day walking into this property right in the middle of town. From the hussle and bussle of the Jamaican feel of the city....to a port that feels like you are in a different world. How can that be....so close in proximatey...yet so different in class.

His home remains the same since his passing in his bed in 1973.

His main room where he worked had two pianos. Noel never learned how to read music so that is there reason for a second piano. He wrote the music, while someone else played the notes.

And never a shortage of celebrities to entertain ....

The Marina was gorgeous....so pretty with sail boats, and finely manicured beach front and tables on a dock that I would love to sit at for an evening meal.

For those of you who don't know...Firefly is the home of Noel Coward....

On our way...we enjoy the beauty of the islands scenery. No time line, no rush to be anywhere for anything or anybody...we take a leisurely drive. Like every place else, there is likkle signage to get to your desitination. We finally found the road to Firefly....and small sign off the road that would never send a large amount of tourists there...unless you were specifically looking for the place.

Up the long windy, bumpy, pot ridden road....past house, communities and homes....we made our way. The locals waved and nodded and eventually we made it to the top of the hill....and not to be disappointed.

We were met by a couple....the women was the guide as we parked the car, and started towards the main home. There was really nothing to be seen until we enter the home....then...it we both had a moment of ahhhhhhh....how gorgeous is this!

As no one lives at Firefly ...it was a guided tour. These are pics as we entered the home...

We first came across the room where he did his art work....

This is a photo of where Noel Coward used to sit and spend his afternoons...

Of course I had to capture that same feeling with hubby....and I could tell, this would have suited him just fine to have lived here. Two pianos ....he would have been in heaven.....

I tried to capture them both in the same frame....but this is actually a better photo except he is missing a cigarette,,...

the marina is a fabulous place to eat. ...Normas food is fabulous and as yu said , so is the atmosphere. dat beach feels like ur own private space too..occasionally, some soldiers come to frolic on the beach . They have a camp justp the hill.. a welcome opportunityto feast on "eye candy" while frolicking in the water ..hehehe\

oh my god, that pic of the view from Firefly took my breath away and gave me chills at the same time. Such unparalleled beauty--that is the perfect photo of the island I am head over heels in love with. Can you imagine waking up to that view each morning? What a thing.

The ruins were spectacular too--and made me wonder what the place looked like before it fell into ruin. You have given me so many great ideas for what I want to do when I visit that part of the island. What a great photo tour. Thank you thank you!
