Airport arrival wait times

How has it been going though at peak times lately, 12-2:00 give or take? I always use club mobay so thats been great but the lines sure seem to move fast even without it with the new system. Thinking of not doing Club Mobay on arrivals and see what happens.

My experience the last few years has been that when I don't use Club MoBay on arrival, the immigration hall is packed.

In addition, Club MoBay has a dedicated Customs booth that is usually quicker than the regular customs booth.

You can look online to see how many arrivals are scheduled around your landing time.

If you use today as an example, there are 21 flights landing at MBJ arriving between 12noon and 2PM. If you use an average of 200 passengers per flight, that's 4,200 passengers. That's a busy airport.

We arrived at 11:00 am on Sunday, Dec 1. We had Club Mobay but the airport was empty. Club Mobay seemed like a waste of money because we still had to wait forever for our luggage.

My friend arrived yesterday at 2:20PM. I was an hour early so I was just going to just sit at the Groovy Grouper and wait for him to walk out. I was stuck in traffic at the 1st roundabout for over an hour. Another 20 minutes to get through the airport roundabout. I was in the wrong lane and drivers were all frustrated so no one would let me in for a lane change. I ended up going out and around the airport roundabout again, that took another 20 minutes. This time I was able to get in the parking lot lane and got in real quick. The new parking lot is large and can handle lots of vehicles so that was a plus. Needless to say my friend was there waiting for me. He said he has never seen the airport this busy. He had Club MoBay but it still took 45 minutes to get to immigration and get to his bags, and another 15 minutes to get through customs. He said the non Club MoBay people would be 2 hours getting out. This is Saturday afternoon.
So.....;
1) If your arrival is on a busy day like Friday late afternoon or Saturday mid day, the airports is going to be busy. Check https://m.mbjairport.com/arrivals for flights arriving an hour before and 1/2 hour after your flight for an idea of wait times.

2) If your departure is during a busy time period, give lots and lots of time to get to the airport. I saw a few people dragging bags out of vehicles in and around the big roundabout and then walking to departures
because they didn't have the time and they'd walk there before their driver would arrive there.

I arrive at 10:19-ish Wednesday, March 12... I just booked departure services I'm thinking I should probably book arrival services?

We got in on December 9 around 1:30 pm and it was extremely busy. We were very glad we had Club MoBay.

At that time and on a Wednesday I would expect the airport to be empty

When we arrived last month, the airport was packed, yet with the new facial scan at immigration, we got thru, no problem. The longest wait was for the luggage (They listed the wrong luggage belt for our flight and it seemed that they were mixing the luggage from various planes on whatever belt was easiest for them to load). So I don't think I'd use Club Mobay again.

I have been through that airport several times this year and always have had club mobay but it sure seems like things have sped up with the new system. I am coming in mid day in January at 2:30 on a Friday and booked Mobay to be safe but if it isn't of much help, I may pass more often then not on arrivals.
